I’ve wanted to spend more time in New Zealand since the first time visited as a teenager. I had a strong urge to be here in my late 20s and considered doing an exchange program in Christchurch while studying design.

Then in my 30s, when I was 8 months pregnant with Alvy, I desperately wanted to get to Wellington for a design event - I secretly imagined I might just get a one way ticket and never return - I was advised against it.

My desire to return has been very quietly simmering away all these years - I’m so happy to be here now - and the best part is, now get to share it with my family 🩵

This week’s snapshot. Week 2 of sabbatical. More time on the iPad than the sketchbook - my current strategy is to outrun all critical opinion of myself by posting frequently and quickly - giving myself little time to overthink anything 🙃
